I am involved in a number of outreach activities with children and young people.   A selection of these activities is listed below. Here is a short  video on my outreach work.

Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience (DCN) Lab exhibit, Lancashire Science Festival

Role: Lead organiser 

Dates: 30th June-3rd July 2016, 28th June-1st July 2017, 28th-30th June, 2018, 27th-29th June 2019 

Audience: 13,000 festival visitors of all ages

‘Hard Feelings: The Science of Emotion’: public engagement exhibit, Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Festival of Social Sciences, Museum of Science and Industry

Role: co-organiser with Dr. Lander

Audience: 400 visitors (children and families)

Widening Participation Work Experience Scheme, University of Manchester

Role: Lead organiser of the ‘Brain and Rewards’ exhibit.

Audience: approx. 10,000 visitors of all ages of which approx. 3,500 visited our exhibit

Role: Lead organiser of the ‘Brain and Rewards’ exhibit

 ‘Year 10’ Challenge workshops, University of Southampton ‘Learn with US’ Outreach Programme

This is a scheme working in partnership with schools and colleges to raise students’ aspirations and improve students’ academic attainment and self-confidence.

Role: Lead organiser of the Psychology workshops

Audience: 50 14-15 year old students from local schools and their teachers.

Exhibit at the Big Bang Fair in the context of the University of Southampton Roadshow, a University-wide scheme promoting public engagement in various venues across the UK.
